Kuthetha Nathi / Talk to us is an NGO counselling service which operates from Cape Town Psychologists. The organisation offers various counselling services through its lay counsellors who seek to support their clients. There is a large gap between the demand for mental health services and the amount of registered mental health service providers. Kuthetha nathi / Talk to us intends to address this gap by offering counselling services to ALL individuals, regardless of their circumstances at cost effective rates.
Kuthetha nathi / Talk to us utilises lay counsellors to achieve the above goals. These lay counsellors are trained to provide experienced support to their clients and work on a volunteer basis. The lay counsellors attend weekly supervision sessions in which continued training and assessment of their work is conducted. Presently, our lay counsellors consist of highly dedicated, full-time, psychology students who all intend on pursuing careers as psychologists.
The organisation offers affordable counselling rates which are uniquely tailored to every clients specific circumstances. The service is designed to be as affordable as possible and is far cheaper than standard psychotherapy rates. We prefer to view the cost involved with this service as a commitment fee such that clients can appreciate the time afforded to them by their lay counsellor and understand that the service they are receiving conveys value.
This service is ideal for individuals who may be presently facing financial constraint or those who may not have access to medical aids.
Kuthetha nathi / Talk to us operates from the practice rooms at Cape Town Psychologists. An available room will be booked by your counsellor in which you and them will embark on your supportive journey. Appointment times and dates will be discussed between you and your counsellor.
