Kuthetha Nathi / Talk to us is an NPO counselling service which operates from Cape Town Psychologists. The organisation offers various counselling services through its community counsellors who seek to support their clients. There is a large gap between the demand for mental health services and the amount of registered mental health service providers. Kuthetha nathi / Talk to us intends to address this gap by offering counselling services to ALL individuals, regardless of their circumstances at cost effective rates.
Kuthetha nathi / Talk to us utilises community counsellors to achieve the above goals. These community counsellors are trained to provide experienced support to their clients and work on a volunteer basis. The lay counsellors attend weekly supervision sessions in which continued training and assessment of their work is conducted. Presently, our community counsellors consist of highly dedicated, full-time, psychology students who all intend on pursuing careers as psychologists.
The organisation offers counselling from as little as R30, but appreciates more if you find the service valuable. Counselling is far cheaper than standard psychotherapy rates. The cost involved with this service is regarded as a service fee such that clients may appreciate the time afforded to them by their community counsellor and understand that the service they are receiving conveys value.
This service is ideal for individuals who may be presently facing financial constraint or those who may not have access to medical aids.
Kuthetha nathi / Talk to Us is growing hubs around the country. It is best to phone in to find out where the current hubs are located. Our Head Office is in Sea Point, Cape Town. You will be assigned to a counsellor and you will then discuss with your counsellor how you will proceed on your counselling journey. Appointment times and dates will be discussed between you and your counsellor.
